I trace my roots to the heart of East Texas, where my upbringing in a musical family laid the foundation for a lifelong love affair with the arts.
For the initial quarter-century of my life, music was my universe. However, a fervent interest and passion for fashion, interior design, and art always bubbled beneath the surface. Growing up in a family of educators turned restaurateurs, I learned the ropes of business early on.
In 1989, life took an adventurous turn as I met my husband and ventured to South Africa, where we spent 13 years nurturing our family of three boys. The experiences abroad were invaluable, shaping our perspectives and broadening our horizons.
The next chapter unfolded in Austin in 2001, where we delved into diverse entrepreneurial ventures — from publishing in South Africa to a culinary venture and a thriving kitchen and bathroom remodeling business. Now, based in the vibrant Atlanta, Georgia area, Lala and Company marks our foray into the world of art, fashion, and design.
